NATIVE MAC TOOLS. ORIGINAL SPECTRUM MACHINES.
The Mac IDE for ZX Spectrum.
Write BASIC and Z80. Shape pixels and sound. Build, debug and test for 48K and 128K in one project.

THE WORKBENCH
Everything around
your source.
Navigate the project, write the program and inspect the running machine without leaving the IDE.
Explore the tools
The 48K workbench: project navigator, syntax-aware source and the running program.
RECENT ADDITIONS
More room to make things.
New authoring tools and a more connected 48K / 128K workflow.
Review beside the source
Keep the project assistant in the right sidebar. Expand the proposed resource, inspect local validation and apply the reviewed change explicitly.
MUSIC / 1.6A score you can shape
Drag notes, resize durations and follow the playhead in the new piano roll. Keep the Events view for exact timing.
Z80 / 1.6Pause the routine. Keep the state.
Inspect simulated time, instruction count and PC. Continue an isolated test without resetting CPU or RAM.
NEW / AI FIELD GUIDE
Better requests.
Better-understood code.
Take a real task through the IDE: write the brief, ask for a focused change, inspect the proposal and test what it actually does.

SYSTEM / FOUR DISCIPLINES
The creative tools belong to the build.
Code, machine language, pixels and sound remain first-class project artifacts—with source identity, validation, review and Undo.
Sinclair BASIC
Project-aware editing, semantic diagnostics, navigation and line-safe refactoring.
02Z80 Assembly
Symbols, source maps, memory contracts, deterministic assembly and tests.
03Graphics
SCREEN$, attributes, UDG and drawing code built for the real display model.
04Music
Patterns, realtime input, MIDI recording and target-aware BASIC or assembly.
INSIDE DZX STUDIO
Code. Pixels. Sound.
The editors, the data and the machine state.

A screen-clearing Z80 routine, its assembled listing and a passed routine test. Acceptance remains a separate action.

C4, E4, G4 and C5 entered with Step input: four quarter notes at 120 BPM, with exact timing alongside the grid.

The 128K project stopped at BASIC line 110, after GO SUB 8000 returned. The line profile maps the linked music routine back to music_1.bas.
TARGET MODEL / NOT AN AFTERTHOUGHT
48K clarity.
128K depth.
The selected machine profile governs language services, build, runtime and debugger through to the final tape.
